The Parenting Collective CIC supports families with children from pregnancy to
toddlerhood. Through our groups, workshops and sling and nappy libraries, we guide and care for families, focusing on the wellbeing of the parent/carer and child.

We are so grateful for the work our volunteers provide; their contribution and support is valuable to the projects and services we provide.

Marketing Coordinator

We are looking for a volunteer Marketing Coordinator to raise the profile of our work and help us to reach more parents. The Marketing Coordinator will:

  • Design marketing strategy and campaigns.
  • Work with local media to promote our services.
  • Evaluate and monitor campaign performance.
  • Manage social media presence including developing and managing content.
  • Create content for various marketing channels, ensuring consistency of voice.

You are creative and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and you thrive on doing a lot with a small amount! You will make the role your own and enjoy taking ownership of this project.

We are a growing organisation and offer volunteers plenty of training and development opportunities. This will be a crucial role in helping our organisation to grow and increase its positive impact in the community.

This volunteer role can be undertaken remotely.

 

Fundraising Coordinator

We are looking for a volunteer Fundraising Coordinator to support our Fundraising Committee. Community fundraising helps us to operate the support services we offer and we rely on donations and sponsorship to keep running. The Fundraising Coordinator will:

  • Work to deliver our quarterly fundraising targets.
  • Work with the Fundraising Committee to plan and deliver events and activities.
  • Work with the CEO to implement creative fundraising strategies.

You will have good interpersonal, diplomacy, communication and teamwork skills. You will make the role your own and enjoy taking ownership of this project.

Project Manager: Workshops

vWe are looking for a volunteer Project Manager to support and develop our workshop programme. Our workshops bring experts in various fields to local parents, and generate much-needed income for our support services. The Project Manager will:

  • Solicit and understand service user feedback and interests
  • Develop an interesting and valuable schedule of workshops
  • Oversee the planning and delivery of workshop sessions
  • Work with the Marketing Coordinator to secure bookings for each session
  • Deliver excellent customer service to workshop attendees

You will have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. You will make the role your own and enjoy taking ownership of this project.

This volunteer role can be undertaken remotely.

Group Helpers

We are growing our parent support groups around Stockport and we are looking for more Helpers. Our Helpers are the friendly faces of our groups and are an essential part of welcoming parents.

The Helpers will:

  • Sign in parents and carers attending the group / event and assign number to be seen by peer supporters, including handing over to peer supporters
  • Use the online hire system MyTurn to check out and check in slings/carriers, nappies, and accessories.
  • To assist with setting up and breaking down
  • To signpost to other groups, events and services where relevant
  • To take refreshments orders and to prepare and provide them
  • To provide social element to the group, friendly and welcoming, signposting other local services where required

You will be friendly, non-judgemental, and passionate about helping other parents and improving experiences.

We are a growing organisation and offer volunteers plenty of training and development opportunities. We ask for a minimum commitment of 3 hours per month.

Sling Library Peer Supporter

We are growing our parent support groups around Stockport and we are looking for more volunteer Sling Library Peer Supporters. If you’re a keen sling/carrier user and want to share your knowledge with local parents, please get in touch!

This volunteer role includes subsidised training.

Sling Library Peer Supporters will:

  • Help parents/carers attending our groups to find the right sling or carrier for them (this may include one-to-one  and group demos)
  • Fit Sling Library carriers to parents and carers
  • Help parents/carers with their own sling/carrier
  • Ensure parents and carers receive and understand relevant safety information.

You will be friendly, non-judgemental, and passionate about helping other parents and improving experiences. You will have experience of carrying your own child and will be enthusiastic about increasing your knowledge.
