The 4-week FOURTH TRIMESTER COURSE brings new mums together to share experiences, learn about infant development, and better enjoy the newborn period.

  • build your coping toolkit (crying, sleep, feeding)
  • learn about the wide range of ‘normal’ experiences
  • identify and grow your support network
  • figure out how to look after yourself while raising a new baby

What we cover

During the first part of each session, the facilitator will introduce evidence-based information on the week’s topic. This includes take-home resources and signposting to additional support. After a short drinks break, the group will share experiences and ideas to better enjoy the newborn period.

WEEK ONE: coping with parenthood – introductions, the fourth trimester, why babies cry, coping tools

WEEK TWO: coping with sleep – infant sleep development, what is ‘normal’, getting more rest

WEEK THREE: coping with feeding (led by Jane Graves IBCLC)

WEEK FOUR: coping with the future – baby development, what’s next, planning self-care
